Central Air Conditioning

Most homes in and around Memphis, Tennessee have central Air conditioning Systems. So what is a central air conditioning system? A central air conditioning system sometimes referred to as a "split system" is an air conditioner that contains an outdoor unit that houses the outdoor heat exchanger (condenser coil), fan, and compressor, and an indoor cabinet contains the indoor heat exchanger (evaporator coil) and blower. In many split-system air conditioners, the indoor cabinet may contain the a furnace. Central air conditioners distribute air through supply ductwork through out the house and returns air back to the system via return ducts. These ducts are usually located in an attic, basement or crawlspace.
